Visti is a series of lounge and dining seating, inspired to Scandinavian classics, yet designed with contemporary solutions and technologies.
The series of lounge chair, dining chair and dining sofa is characterized by a distinctive yet familiar design, inspired by the classics of Scandinavian mid-century design but with a decidedly contemporary twist. Soft and comfortable volumes lie within the neat frame crafted in solid oak. The turned legs softly blend into the plane of the armrests, that are smoothly shaped underneath and completely flat and horizontal on top, so they can also be used to lay a drink while comfortably seated. The seat is constructed in moulded foam with spring inserts, the fabric cover is removable so that it can be washed or replaced if it wears out over time.
During the development of the Visti lounge chair, the first design of the series, the manufacturers thought that there was a mistake in our 3d files, because the side crossbeams connecting the front and hind crossbeams of the wood frame were missing. To their surprise, we explained that the 3d files were correct and that the design was not supposed to have side crossbeams. This misunderstanding unveils one of the unexpected technical solution that we designed for the lounge chair: the front and hind crossbeams are connected through a metal frame concealed into the molded foam of the seat. This solution allowed us to keep the wooden frame extremely light and simple, both visually and construction-wise, so that the sculptural volume of the upholstered seat almost appears to float in the middle of the wooden frame.
