Ronya table

Ronya is series of extendable tables with a functional in-built extension mechanism and soft and welcoming aesthetics.
In the design of Ronya, we worked on an elementary system with legs fixed in the corners so as to leave as much space as possible for the chairs around the table. Table top, aprons and legs are shaped with smooth and organic volumes. We studied a distinctive joint between legs and aprons, which highlights the texture and quality of solid oak. The top of the legs is rounded and slightly detached from the table top, creating a subtle shadow detail.
Ronya table is extendable. Working closely with the manufacturer, we drew on their experience in extendable tables to develop a special in-built extension mechanism which avoids the division in the middle of the rectangular table and allows to have the tabletop made of one single wooden board. A both functional and aesthetic solution to add a four seats at the table. We also designed a round version of Ronya and a small squared one, a compact extendable table for smaller dining rooms. In all the table variations, we studied the extension mechanism so that it can be easily operated by a single person.
