Join is a soft dining armchair that plays with the pairing of upholstery and solid wood in a continuous embracing volume.
Crafted with solid oak frame and legs and an upholstered shell in molded foam, Join is a highly comfortable dining chair that blends soft fabric volumes with a crafted oak base. The design idea was to shape a continuous organic volume that splits along the edge of the seat: the upper part of the volume is made of soft upholstered foam, the lower part of hard solid wood, smoothly shaped with CNC milling machines. The design plays with the expressive characteristics of the two materials and with their different tactile features.
We designed the molded foam shell to ensure maximum comfort and support, allowing for long evenings around the dining table. The upholstery is developed in a way that it can be removed and washed or replaced. The legs of the chair can be dismounted and can be assembled directly by the user, reducing considerably the volume of the packaging and the impact of transportation.
